What is KDF?
KriegerDataForge is a personal platform I build and use for my own apps. They all share SSO, handled by an identity provider built on OAuth 2.0 and OIDC. Code the apps have in common lives in shared packages, so it only has to be written once. Those are in Python and npm for now, with room for other languages as I need them. My Terraform and CI/CD library keep every repository built and deployed the same way.

Building apps is a passion of mine, and I wanted to stop starting each one from scratch. Keeping them all on one organized system makes them simpler to manage and maintain, and lets them work together without piles of manual work.

// how the platform got here
The first app
2022Started a nutrition tracker and restarted it six times over the next few years. Along the way I noticed a problem every later app would have too. Each one would need its own sign in, database setup, and deploy pipeline, written from scratch every time.
KriegerDataForge begins
2025The sixth restart, in May, became KriegerDataForge. It started as three repositories around one large shared backend, for the nutrition tracker and the apps that would come after it.
Shared foundations
2026Gave each app its own backend, and pulled the repeated parts out into a shared Python SDK every backend installs, a Terraform setup that declares every environment, and a CI/CD library every repository inherits.
Single sign on for my apps
2026Turned the shared backend into an OAuth 2.0 and OIDC identity provider with a hosted login page, so every app gets single sign on instead of each one growing its own.
Apps on top
2026 →It spans 18 repositories now. The nutrition tracker and a boutique storefront for my sister are the two apps being built on it, and the tracker is deployed and in use. A game catalog is planned after them.
